The event occurred just before 2 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, in Farmingdale.
Officers responded to reports of a disturbance near the junction of Conklin and Main streets.
When officers arrived, they saw 36-year-old Bryan Flores, a local resident, yelling and cursing in the highway, making others feel unsafe, according to Nassau County Police.
Flores became belligerent and combative while resisting arrest, and one officer was injured, officials said.
The cop was transferred to a local hospital.
Flores was also taken to a local hospital for a medical examination.
Flores was charged with:
- Disorderly conduct,
- Obstructing governmental administration,
- Pedestrian failing to use a sidewalk,
- Resisting arrest,
- Two counts of assault,
- Harassment.
He was set to be arraigned on Saturday in Hempstead’s First District Court.
