Police say a woman on Long Island and her friends stole and took a stranger’s car and then shot and killed him outside of a church because he parked in front of her house.

Police have charged Christopher Perdomo, 27, and five other teens, along with Kayla Alvarenga, 22, with murder in the shocking killing in Bay Shore in 2022. Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said this week that Perdomo and the other teens were part of a group of people who helped her.

Tierney said, “The alleged murder in this case happened for no good reason and with no real reason.” “No one should be killed violently just for parking their car.”

Alvarenga got into a fight with victim Linver Ortiz Ponce, 29, of Central Islip, on September 16, 2022, because he had parked his red Chevy Camaro outside her house on Fifth Avenue just before midnight, Tierney said.

Officials say Alvarenga called for help from some friends, including Perdomo, two 16-year-olds, and a 17-year-old, because Ortiz Ponce wouldn’t move.

Tierney said that the four stole a BMW and drove it to Alvarenga’s house, where they beat Ortiz Ponce and pulled him out of his car.

Surveillance video from a nearby gas station showed that they then stole his car and drove off.

He also ran away and tried to hide himself between the cars parked at a gas station on Fifth Avenue.

It is said that Alvarenga saw this and then told Perdomo and his men to kill Ortiz Ponce.

He is said to have brought two more children with him, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old. They all got into the stolen Camaro and BMW to look for Ortiz Ponce.

According to reports at the time by the DA and News 12, when they found him, they smuggled him into the BMW and took him to the nearby House of Prayer Church of God, which Alvarenga thought didn’t have cameras. There, they beat him again and again.

That clearly wasn’t enough for the bloodthirsty ringleader, though, because officials say Alverenga told Perdomo to shoot Ortiz Ponce.

Tierney said that Perdomo then shot the hurt man several times as he tried to get away.

They ran away, leaving the Camaro and BMW behind. He also said they took an Uber back to Alvarenga’s house.

As of last Wednesday, Perdomo was charged with first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder, kidnapping, robbery, and conspiracy. He was caught in Georgia, where he moved in May.

He will spend the rest of his life in jail without the chance to get out. Until his trial, he has been held without bail.

Tierney said that Alvarenga will be charged on October 30.

All of the juvenile criminals have also been arrested, and charges are still being worked out, he said.
