Authorities in Hudson County say a 25-year-old man from Bayonne is in serious condition after being hit by a car early Sunday morning on Route 440 near the intersection of 22nd Street.
Suarez said in a statement that the Bayonne Police Department was told about a person who was hit around 12:20 a.m. yesterday in the area of Route 440 and 22nd Street.
Responding officers found a male victim with life-threatening injuries. The victim was later named as a 25-year-old man from Bayonne.
The car that hit her did not stay at the scene of the accident. The man was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, but his situation is still very bad.
With help from the Bayonne Police Department, the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit is looking into this case right now.
