Elk Mound usually knows all the answers at home, but Elmwood/Plum City was too hard for them to handle on Thursday.
After a close game, they barely got a win over the Elk Mound Mounders 3-2. The Wolves have now won five games in a row, so this was not their first win.
It wasn’t easy for Elmwood/Plum City to lose. They pushed Elk Mound to a fifth set and won by five points. The score was 16-25, 25-17, 26-24, 22-25, and 15-10 in the end.
A lot of Elmwood/Plum City’s success can be traced back to Norah Auth, who had 12 digs and three aces.
Other than her, there were other good servers. Elmwood/Plum City had 14 aces at the end of the game and was very dangerous from the service line. It’s been since September 2023 that they’ve had that many aces.
Elmwood/Plum City has been playing really well lately. They’ve won eight of their last nine games, which has helped them improve their season record to 17-7.
However, Elk Mound lost, ending a run of five home wins, and their record now stands at 13-12.
For their next games, both teams will have to go on the road. Thursday at 7:00 p.m., Elmwood/Plum City will play Spring Valley. Today, both Elk Mound and Glenwood City had extra time off.
On Thursday at 7:00 p.m., they will get ready to play each other again. Glenwood City has lost three straight games, so Elk Mound is going up against them at the right time.
