A Harvest Moon will also be visible in the sky on Tuesday, September 17th.

NASA says that the name “harvest moon” comes from the time before power, when farmers used the moon’s bright light to work late into the night gathering their crops. This is the full moon that happens closest to the start of fall, which was especially helpful because that’s when plants grew the most.
