Basketball Recap Abernathy's Winning Streak Ended at Nine Games

Abernathy returned to earth after flying high against Lubbock on Friday. The Frenship Tigers defeated the Abernathy Antelopes 69-29 on Friday.

While losing is never fun, the Antelopes can’t take it too hard given their significant disadvantage in MaxPreps’ Texas basketball rankings (71st versus 11th).

Abernathy lost despite strong performances by Mecailin Marshall and Lacy Bloskas. Marshall finished with 14 points, six rebounds, and three steals, while Bloskas added six points and nine rebounds.

That accounted for 48.3% of Abernathy’s points, the seventh time in a row she had more than one-third of the team’s total.

Abernathy lost, snapping a nine-game winning streak and dropping to 15-7. Frenship has been on a roll lately, winning six of their last seven games, adding to their 17-5 record this season.

Abernathy wasted no time getting back on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-41 loss to Americas on the 28th.

Frenship, on the other hand, didn’t waste any time getting back on the court: they played their next game on the 28th, winning 70-60 against Monterey.
