Mostly cloudy skies with showers Downeast

Bangor, Maine (WABI) – Rain is likely to happen again. Today, a low-pressure system over Maritime Canada and a cold front from the west will both hit Maine at different times. Low pressure over Maritime Canada will bring showers and gusty winds to mostly Down east towns this morning.

 

Today, gusts of wind can reach 30 to 35 mph, but they will weaken in the afternoon. Today, there are Small Craft and High Surf Advisories for the coast and intracoastal parts of Maine. This morning there were showers in the Down east, and they will move across Eastern Maine today.

 

Today the sky will be mostly cloudy, but in Western Maine it will be a little better. It starts to rain all over the state after sunset, when a cold front from the west comes in. The rain lasts all night. From the low 60s to the mid-70s, it gets hot. It gets dewy in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

 

Overnight, the skies will be mostly cloudy because a cold front is moving through Maine. Around midnight, showers stopped in far western Maine. They kept going through central and northern Maine until sunrise, with a few lighter showers happening in the southeast around dawn. Sunday morning, the sky starts to get clear. There are lows in the mid-40s to mid-50s.

 

It will be mostly sunny on Sunday. Partly cloudy clouds and a few showers will end in the southeast during the morning. Northern Maine has cool highs in the mid-50s, while Down east has warm highs in the low 70s. In the high 40s and low 50s, there isn’t much dew. Up to 25 mph of wind is expected.

 

It will be sunny on Monday. From the low 60s to the mid-70s, it gets hot. The dew point stays dry in the upper 40s to low 50s. There could be gusts of up to 20 mph of wind.

 

As high pressure moves in from the west on Tuesday, it will be sunny. It will stay for most of the week. The highs are in the upper 70s to the middle 60s. In the high 40s and low 50s, there is no dew.

 

It looks like it will be sunny again on Wednesday. The high temperatures are in the 70s. From the upper 40s to the mid-50s, the dew point stays dry.

 

Thursday will be warm, and it will feel like summer again. There are highs in the mid-70s to low-80s. It gets dewy in the middle to upper 50s.

 

Saturday: Skies will be mostly cloudy. It rains down east. The coast is being warned of small craft and high surf because of wind gusts of up to 35 mph. Getting clear in western Maine. A cold front comes in from the west after the sun goes down. High temperatures in the low to mid-sixties.

 

SUNDAY: The sky will be mostly sunny. Showers here and there in the East in the morning. Getting clearer all day. High temperatures in the mid-50s to low-70s.

 

MONDAY: The sky is clear. It will be hot, between the low 60s and mid-70s.

 

TUESDAY: The sky is clear. It will be hot, between the mid-60s and upper-70s.

 

WEDNESDAY: The sky is clear. High weather all through the 1970s.
