Before the end of 2024, millions of US individuals will be able to receive a new Social Security check. And for many of these people, this will be their final check, as several of these agencies have ran out of checks for December.
Similarly, this will be the final check for a vast number of Americans, who will receive a maximum of $4,873. As a result, the maximum payments for this benefit will change from that amount to others. Similarly, after the payment on the 24th day, the amount will vary for each and every American.
As a result, obtaining a check like the one we’ve been getting since 2024 will no longer be conceivable. On December 24th, people who meet certain qualifications will receive their final Social Security payment at the existing rate. However, failure to complete these standards does not prevent us from collecting the payment.
In total, the Social Security Administration will issue up to four different checks in December. These are retirement checks, but we may receive two more Supplemental Security Income installments. Who will get their last Social Security Payment on December 24th?
Americans who have received Social Security benefits after 1997 may be eligible to receive this December 24th payment. However, this is not the only need for reaching this sum; another condition must also be fulfilled.
A retiree must complete two mandatory conditions in order to receive their final retirement payment on December 24th:
- To have Social Security payment since after 1997. This requirement is good for three different payments during the month. So you can belong to one of the three groups if you have had a check since after that year.
- You must have a birthday between the 11th and 20th of any month. The second requirement is related to the beneficiary’s day of birth. Depending on the day we were born we get the payment on the second, third or fourth Wednesday of the month. This is not so in the case of having the payment since before 1997.
The amount of this check will be the regular 2024 amount, although this will change later in the year 2024, when the COLA will be included. Similarly, it is feasible to receive an additional payout in December 2024, but we will need to meet different criteria.
Ho to get an extra check from the SSA in December?
In order to receive this additional benefit, we must have Supplemental Security Income. This check is only given to the most needy United States residents, and in order to receive it, we must meet two standards.
If we have a handicap or are above the age of 65, we can apply for SSI through Social Security. To qualify for this payment, you do not need a retirement check, but you must have a low income and limited resources.
If Supplemental Security Income is accepted, we may receive an additional check in December. To be more precise, the Social Security Administration will send this payment on December 31st. If we have engaged Direct Deposit as a collecting option, the payment will come the same day.
