The Homicide Squad has released information about a fatal vehicular accident that occurred on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 10:06 PM in Hewlett.
According to detectives, a 74-year-old male pedestrian was crossing Broadway near 1345 Broadway when he was struck by a dark-colored SUV driving north on Broadway.
According to witnesses, the SUV’s male driver exited the vehicle, pulled the victim to the side of the road, then re-entered the vehicle and fled the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced by a hospital physician.
The investigation is underway.
