How much can SSI beneficiaries get from the Federal government?
In September, the Social Security Administration released the average amount of SSI payouts for August. This average amount is $698 right now. Since January 2024, it has gone up and down.
For the 2024 payments, the most SSI you can get is $943. Keep in mind that the new COLA won’t start until December 31. It will count toward the January check.
Married people can get up to $1,415 if both of them apply. Essential people are another group of Americans who might be able to get Supplemental Security Income payments. Even so, since they are only worth $472, they can get the smallest checks or direct transfers.
