In the US, retirees can still get one last payment in October. On October 23, Social Security will send direct payments to retirees. You must have been born between July 21 and December 31 to get money on this date.
Remember that the amount you get will depend on how much you worked and how much you paid in taxes to SSA. That means the highest amounts are only for people who make a lot of money and meet other requirements.
Social Security payment for retirees on November 1
Just so you know, if you started getting retirement benefits after April 30, 1997, you will not get your direct deposit on November 1. Based on when you were born, you will have to wait until November 13, 20, or 27.
Social Security will deliver direct payments to retirees on November 1 if:
- You are also eligible and receiving SSI (Supplemental Security Income) on November 1, or
- You started getting payments before May 1997
The November 3 payment couldn’t be made that day because it’s a Sunday, so SSA had to move it to the previous work day. Furthermore, if you are getting both SSI and retirement benefits, you will receive both at the same time. The two checks will arrive on November 1, 2024.
November 1 and the Social Security payment amounts for retirees
People who retired at age 70 and worked 35 years in jobs covered by Social Security can get up to $4,873 from the program. This is if they made the maximum amount of money that was taxed during those 35 years.
You won’t get so much money if you don’t do that. You can get up to $3,822 if you file when you are full retirement age, or up to $2,710 if you file when you are 62.
People who are retired can get about $1,920 a month. Remember that your payment will be much less if you worked for only ten years, filed at age 62, or made little money.
