4 people were arrested for attempted murder after a shooting at Coney Island

Four males have been arrested in connection with the crazy Coney Island shooting, which resulted in at least 25 rounds and two injuries, authorities said Friday.

Responding officers apprehended the four suspects after their getaway vehicle crashed on Ocean Parkway, a short distance from the Thursday shooting at Surfside Gardens, a NYCHA housing community on W. 31st St. near Surf Ave., according to police.

Police said bullets struck a 22-year-old woman in the buttocks and a 32-year-old male in the right hand, but it was unclear whether they were the intended targets. Both victims have previous arrests, according to a police source familiar with the case.

The injured were transported to NYU-Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where they were treated for minor injuries.

According to a police source, the injured woman was discovered inside a neighboring Surf Ave. apartment when officers arrived on the scene.

A nearby public school was placed under temporary lockdown, which was removed shortly thereafter, according to authorities.

Investigators discovered 25 bullet casings at the location. The shooting included two weapons, according to authorities.

Suspects Louis Pierre and Jahlen Wharton, both 19, and Tukoy Gillespie and Zhane Dabreo, both 20, fled in a silver sedan that wrecked shortly after, authorities said. All four were arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Their arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court remained pending.
