Two men have been accused in connection with a major child exploitation ring that operated in southern, western, and central Maine.
Over the course of four days this week, state police say they conducted search warrants and investigations in 17 communities ranging from Madison in the north to Kittery and Eliot in the south.
They claim that the search warrants confirmed the possession, dissemination, and production of child sexual abuse material, and that children were coerced into creating sexual abuse content online.
Police say two people were arrested during the operation: Shawn Ramsay, 48, and Benjamin Fecteau, 37.
