TOWN OF ROCK ELM, Wis. (WEAU) — A car crash in Pierce County has killed one person and hurt another.
According to a news release from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, around 4:30 p.m., two motorcycles were involved in an accident on State Highway 72 near County Road S in the Town of Rock Elm. Two people were hurt.
In the news release, it was said that David Rea, 54, of Rosemount, Minnesota, was riding a motorcycle westbound on State Highway 72 when he hit Shawn Stuttgen, 48, of Eagan, Minnesota, who was also riding a motorcycle westbound on the same highway.
A press release said that Rea was declared dead at the scene of the accident and that Stuttgen was taken by helicopter to Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire, WI, with injuries that were not yet known.
